About Our Speaker: A/Prof Hergen Buscher is an intensive care specialist who has worked in intensive care and anaesthesia since 1995. His internationally recognised research focuses on extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), a life-saving technology that can temporarily support the heart and lungs of critically ill patients.
With more than 100 publications in scientific journals and extensive international collaboration, Hergen has helped position St Vincent's at the forefront of ECMO research and innovation, with the hospital now contributing to the development of international guidelines in this field.
